You’re So Far Away (A Tribute To Those Who Serve In the United States)

You’re so far away,
I couldn’t beg you to stay..
But I miss you so….
I want you home.

But you’ve got to follow your heart,
Even though it keeps us apart.
Something inside you calls you again.

To a place where there’s anger and hatred and sin.
And the battles in war happen over again.
Something within you wants to help make it end.

Although I respect you so much,
I miss your loving touch.
Promise me babe,
You’ll come back again.

When will they know that it’s gone on too long.
You have to be brave and I have to be strong.
Gotta hold on to hope so you can help right what’s wrong.

You’re so far away,
But you know I pray and I pray,
That God keeps you safe every night and day.
Darlin’ I love you more than words can say.

I wrote this song as a tribute to those who have loved ones serving in the military. Sadly, the necessary evils of war bring heartache to the loved ones waiting for their families to return safely home. I wrote this song to give those people hope.
