Sheba, You're My Best Friend

I wrote this song "Sheba, You're My Best Friend" for my German Shepherd Dog, Sheba, who was stricken with the incurable spinal cord disease degenerative myelopathy. She fought a valiant battle with this disease that had rendered her a paraplegic.... and then quadriplegic. Although the disease took a toll on her physical body, it did not touch her spirit. I love you forever Sheba. You can watch the video of this song on YouTube at

Sheba, You’re my best friend.
Sheba, your love has no end.

They say there’s no cure…
But I just gotta be sure
I won’t stop tryin’….
If it’ll keep you from dyin’.
As long as you’re happy dear,
As long as you have no fear,
I’m gonna keep you around….
Keep you around….
Don’t want to let you go….
Because Sheba you know….
That I love you…..
And I need you….
You’re my best friend.
